How to sit the LTIMindtree GET online assessment: the clock, the order, when to guess, when to move
on, and the setup that keeps you from being disqualified. Numbers come from
research/03-pattern-synthesis.md §1; tags carry over.

The section order is not confirmed. The first-hand 2027 account lists English, Quant, Logical,
Analytical, Programming, CS, Spoken; the 2024 drive document lists English, Logical, Quant,
Programming, CS, Spoken. Don't rely on the order — rely on the per-section clock.
2. The rules that decide the strategy
Rule
Consequence
No negative marking[LIKELY] — no source says otherwise
Answer every question. A blank is a guaranteed zero; a guess is worth 25% of a mark on average
Each section has its own timer; unused time does not carry over [CONFIRMED]
Finishing a section early buys nothing. Use every second of it, then let it close
You can move between questions inside a section[REPORTED]
Two-pass method (below)
Sectional cut-offs: not discoverable
Don't sacrifice a section. A strong total with one very weak section can still fail if a cut-off exists
Calculator and rough sheet: not discoverable
Train for no calculator and no paper. If paper is allowed on the day, it's a bonus
3. The two-pass method, per section
Pass 1 — answer everything you can in under the per-question time. If a question isn't
yielding after about 45 seconds, pick your best guess, mark it (if the platform has a mark
button) and move on. Never leave it blank.
Pass 2 — return to marked questions with whatever time is left, in order of how close you were.
Last 30 seconds — check that no question is unanswered. Fill any blank with a guess.
The first-hand 2027 candidate's advice, in their own order: start with easy questions, watch the
section timer, never spend 3-4 minutes on one question, never leave a question blank, read every
question carefully (R03).
4. Section by section
Section
What it rewards
Tactics
English
Reading speed on long passages (KN, R05) plus grammar and vocabulary
Read the question before the passage. Don't reread the whole passage — scan for the keyword. Grammar items: check subject-verb agreement and tense first; they account for most errors
Logical
Pattern speed
Directions: draw the chart every time, and answer "direction from the start", not the way he is facing (topics/LR2). Letter shifts: write A=1…Z=26 once at the start if paper is allowed; otherwise use the anchors E=5, J=10, O=15, T=20, Y=25
Quant
Formula recall, not long arithmetic
Estimate and eliminate: options are often far apart. The observed items were logs/indices, P&C, profit and loss, TSD — all one-step once you know the rule
Analytical
60 seconds a question — the tightest section
Take the ones you can see instantly. Data sufficiency: check each statement alone first, then together (topics/AN1)
Computer Programming
Tracing, not writing
Trace pseudocode in a small table (variable columns, one row per iteration). Signed ranges: an n-bit signed integer holds −2^(n−1) to 2^(n−1)−1 — this template appeared three times in one reported set. a++ vs ++a and integer division are the classic traps
Computer Science
Recall
SQL came up "in every set, one or two questions" (R31): DROP vs TRUNCATE vs DELETE, ALTER ADD, keys. Then OS (FCFS disk scheduling, OS functions), memory sizing (words × bytes per word)
Spoken English
Delivery
Speak within a second of the beep, at conversational pace, and finish every task. See communication/00-SPOKEN-ENGLISH-FORMAT.md
5. Before the test — the setup (from the 2026-batch official circular)
Item
Detail
Link
From SHL (talentcentral@shl.com last year), usually the day before. Check spam
Window
Last year the link stayed open 24 hours on the test day — take it early in the day, not at 11 pm
Browser
A lockdown browser (Respondus, via AMCAT). Install and test it the day before
Hardware
Laptop, working webcam, earphones with a mic, stable internet, charger plugged in
Uploads during the test
Eligibility declaration form, resume, college ID — pdf/jpeg/doc, under 2 MB, not password-protected. Have them ready in one folder
Dress
Business formals, plain background, good light
Room
Quiet (noise lowers the spoken score), nobody else in the room at any moment
6. What disqualifies you — the circular's list
Another person visible in the frame, at any stage.
Leaving full-screen, opening another tab or window — the test locks permanently.
Print Screen, copying, or photographing the screen — instant disqualification.
A phone or any other device in use or detected.
Covering or obstructing the webcam; face not fully visible.
Close every other application before launching. Put the phone in another room.
7. On the day
When
Do
60 min before
Restart the laptop, close everything, plug in, test earphones and webcam
30 min before
Formals on. Documents folder open. Water. Phone out of the room
During
Two-pass method in each section. Glance at the section timer every 3-4 questions
Spoken section
Quiet room, speak within a second of the beep, finish every task
After
Note from memory every question you remember into input/ — it improves this library and helps your friends in later slots
